10 Tricks to Avoid Needing a Professional or Domestic Cleaner
10 Tricks to Avoid Needing a Professional or Domestic CleanerIf you don’t want to pay someone to do something you can do for yourself, then don’t! There may be a point in your life where you feel like a professional or domestic cleaner is the only solution to your messy home. But don’t be fooled in coughing up money that could be put to other uses. By following these handy tricks and tips, you can save your hard-earned dollars for yourself and avoid paying a domestic cleaner.1.    Dust using microfiber cloths. These will gather dust particles efficiently and prevent build up. They will also make surfaces shiny and not leave damp water marks as the cloth and water method does.2.    Clean the bin each time you take the garbage out. Just give the inside of the bin a quick spray and wipe every time you take the liner out. Simple, but will reduce the risk of bacterial growth developing.3.    Use distilled vinegar diluted with water to clean the microwave. Do this at least three times a week and you’ll happily avoid splatter marks and greasy build ups of grime. Take the plate out of the microwave while doing this and clean underneath and around it.4.    Disinfect the kitchen sink and dishwasher using soap, water and vinegar.  You don’t want to be cleaning dishes in a dirty environment, so do this often through the week to protect yours and your families’ health.5.    Work clockwise when cleaning a room and complete the circle. Whether it’s the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom, working in a circular pattern will make all tasks seem much more achievable and give you a sense of completion as you move around the room.6.    Disinfect the sponge every night. A dirty sponge is basically just wiping germs across your bench which is a very counterproductive motion. Disinfect and clean it with basic dishwashing liquid or vinegar and water solution every time before and after you use it to clean any surface. Also, replace sponges when they are showing visible signs of wear and tear.7.    Use citric fruit acid like lemon juice to clean the toilet. This natural remedy will effectively deodorise and disinfect your toilet bowl. Spray some citric juice diluted with water around the base of the bowl and under the seat, allow to sit for half an hour or so and then wipe away with water and flush.8.    Sweep top to bottom. Mostly in the kitchen, wipe down benches first so that all crumbs fall to the floor. Then pick up the broom or dustpan and brush and sweep the floor.9.    Multitask and get many things done at once. While the sink or toilet is disinfecting, don’t just stand around and watch it happen. Do something else! Wipe surfaces, sweep floors…there will be something to do and you can maximise your time efficiently with multitask. It’s a fantastic feeling when twenty minutes achieves four jobs instead of just one.10.    Time how long it takes to do certain chores. One thing will barely take ten minutes, such as disinfecting the kitchen sink. Add it up, and you can probably have all these little steps done in one hour. Broken up across your morning and night routine, and you won’t even feel like it’s taking too much time. The little things will genuinely add up and make an enormous difference in your house cleaning habits. Don’t let mess and dirt stress you out – take proactive and productive measures to save time and money and increase your happiness and health around the home.
